In a Funk, Let's Keep it Real

Keeping it Real ... Can You Relate?

There are moments in life when we find ourselves in a funk. Motivation disappears and everything feels so much harder.

It's during these times that we need reminders to keep going, to keep showing up. Even when every fiber of our being wants to retreat.

From our Women's Fitness Hub community, we have a great lesson on funks to share.

Tune in (or read on), there's a bit of hope in this message and tangible advice you can put in place RIGHT AWAY!

Remember, even in the darkest of times, we can find strength in simplicity. You can find solace in routine. There's power in perseverance.

Don't underestimate the importance of showing up. Of returning to basics when life throws us off balance.

Rachele shares that we don't always need to feel motivated to take action. Sometimes, all it takes is a commitment to showing up, one step at a time.

This is a powerful message. One that reminds us that even on our lowest days, there's simple ways to break through.

Below is a list of the eight pillars of wellness:

  • me time

  • connection

  • gratitude

  • time spent outdoors

  • hydration

  • sleep

  • exercise

  • sleep

In moments of funk and despair, gratitude reigns supreme. It may seem like the most basic of all the pillars, but it's oh so powerful!

Gratitude guides us back to center.

Work to cultivate gratitude, to seek out moments of joy through all seasons of life, and share it . You can do so by journaling, or sharing your gratitude with others.

In her words, Rachele reminds us that we're not alone in our struggles. We're all bound to get stuck in valleys in life. Moments when the mountain peaks seem distant and unreachable.

It's in these valleys that we learn to appreciate the heights.

And so, here's the big truth.

All you have to do is keep moving forward.

Honor our bodies with movement, nourishment, and rest.

Motivation is fleeting, but dedication is enduring.

It's the small, consistent actions that accumulate over time, that matter most. These are the bulding blocks that help bring about change and growth.

Above all, lean on the tools that resonate most with you. The practices that bring you solace and strength.

This could be a morning walk. Maybe a heartfelt conversation. Or, a quiet moment of reflection.

Rituals become our lifelines in times of need.

It is the rituals that help guide us back to ourselves with grace and compassion.

As I reflect on Rachele's words, I'm reminded of the resilience that resides within each of us. We are strong enough to weather storms. Brave enough to navigate uncertainties and emerge stronger on the other side.

So, to Rachele and to all those who find themselves in a funk today, I offer this simple reminder:

Keep showing up. Keep moving forward. And know that even in the darkest of nights, there's a flicker of light waiting to guide you home.

Let's embrace the valleys, they teach us to cherish the peaks. And let's walk this journey together, one step at a time, knowing that in showing up, we find the strength to rise.
