Be in the room. It takes work and is hard to do, but when you take the time out and truly step away, you can step into some great things!

This past week, trainers Rachele and Lindsay heeded the call and went to Los Angeles to attend two live fitness events. Below, each shares their takeaways from Todd Durkin's IMPACT summit and Idea Fitness Convention.

Shares Rachele ...

It’s never easy to step away from life and business to go to a live event, but I have never regretted it once.

And I am so beyond grateful to my hubs and amazing village who always help make it possible, that’s a true blessing 🙏

Each retreat/convention/conference always seems to bring something so important that I didn’t even know I needed.

It why I always say, take the trip! You will fill up in ways you don’t even realize you need!

The recent Todd Durkin Impact Summit in LA was one for the records books. A weekend immersed with my mastermind community, leading figures in the health industry, coaches, trainers, and amazing speakers.

It’s hard to sum it up, but after reflecting a bit more, here are my 3 top takeaways:

1. BE in the room! That key word “BE” means to take action. To do the work, receive the help and support, and to step away to fill your tank!

It may not always be a multi day retreat, but to be in the room, means to show up.

Maybe it’s to your workout class, a new coach, joining a new team. You have to make yourself vulnerable to be in the room, and with that comes the most amazing connections, experiences, and opportunities to grow.

2. BE consistent! I say this ALL the time! A common theme across every coach, leader, and speaker was to be consistent!

Consistency will take you incredibly far in life. And the best part of this skill set - we ALL have access to it!

The little steps you take every day, the keystone habits, the not giving up, the honoring what you said you were going to do - that’s what moves you forward.

Like coach Frank said, “ It’s better to be consistently good than occasionally great!”

3. Don’t watch the news! (Be mindful what you listen to and let consume your headspace.)

This was a subtle but profound one to me. But, in a room of 200 health/wellness/life coaches, we were asked on the fly who spends a great deal of time watching the news?

I don’t think a hand went up!

One of the best things I’ve done for my mental health is to stop watching the news.

And I felt it was so empowering that in this room full of of real life super hero’s, who want to positively impact the world and others around them, we are all SO intentional what we consume and let into our headspace.

No judgement to anyone who watches the news…but in order to control your health, you have to be super careful what and who you let in!

Can’t wait for the next retreat! VFit Light It Up in August. You can join us!!!

Trainer Lindsay echoes the same sentiment with her biggest takaways from spending the weekend at IDEA Fitness Conference and the Todd Durkin IMPACT Summitt in Los Angeles:

1) BE in the Room! Hearing that on repeat and experiencing the importance to BE in the room really spoke to me.

2) It’s about the people you surround yourself with. Todd Durkin surrounds himself with GREAT people. To be in the room with that group felt very inspiring, welcoming and supportive.

3) What we have at VFit is very special and unique. Our community, connection and convenience of VFit is like nothing out there. We had 40 people from our team join us live for the TD workout! That was such a highlight of the weekend! As well as seeing Rachele shine her light.
