Never Miss a Monday – Even on Vacation

This is my Never Miss a Monday shirt.

It’s more than just a phrase — it’s a mindset that keeps me grounded, focused, and consistent. And yes, I’m packing it for vacation.

Tomorrow, my family and I are heading out for a few days of unplugged adventure: camping and exploring the beauty of Cape Cod. It’s one of our favorite summer traditions — a chance to disconnect from screens, reconnect with each other, and enjoy the kind of movement that doesn’t come from a gym or studio.

But even though I won’t be logging into our live classes this week, my self-care doesn’t go on pause.

I’ve got my plan set — because that’s what we do at VFit. We prepare. We show up. And we honor our bodies with movement that fits our lives, even when we’re off the regular schedule.

Here’s what my vacation fitness looks like this week:

Movement and activity will come from doing what we love as a family — swimming in the ocean, biking the Cape Cod Rail Trail, and hiking the many trails we’ve yet to explore.

For strength, I’m taking it old-school with bodyweight ABCs circuits inspired by some of my favorite VFit classes. If you’ve taken my classes, you know I semi-secretly love using a tabata timer, sneaking in pulses, and building slow, powerful burn sets. So I’ll be squeezing in squats, lunges, pliés, push-ups, plank holds, bicycles, and dead bugs throughout the week.

Mobility and stretching will be my pre-dinner ritual. While I handle the prep inside, my husband takes the grill master role seriously, which gives me the perfect window to unwind on the mat, get grounded, and give back to my body.

It’s not about perfection or following a rigid plan. It’s about continuity. It’s about honoring the work I’ve put in and staying connected to the version of myself that feels strong, capable, and energized — no matter where I am.

I’ll be back on Friday, ready to jump back in live with our amazing VFitter community, and I’m so grateful to Steph and Lindsay M. for filling in for my classes while I’m away. That’s the beauty of this team — we have each other’s backs, and the energy keeps flowing.

So whether you're at home or away, remember: you don’t have to skip your wellness routine. You just have to shift it in a way that fits your life.
