This week, we are bringing you a quote about not giving up on yourself.
This inspo came from Owner, Rachele and is something she says often in class.
“You have a 100% track record of making it to today.”
No matter how tough life has been, how hard a workout has pushed you, or a project has challenged you – up until this very moment, you have a 100% track record of making it through. And those are some pretty amazing stats if you ask us!
How many times do you hear that inner voice say, ‘you’re never going to make it through this.’
Yet, each day, you wake up, take those first breaths of being awake and alive, and go on to lead a new day! Some days may be better than others, but each and every day of your life – you have made it through!
And we want you to stop and celebrate that right now!
Through the toughest of days, the roughest of days and beyond – you have made it through each one with a 100% track record! Otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this right here, right now.
We can get so down on ourselves, especially when multiple obstacles stack up upon one another. The weather is bad. School keeps getting canceled. Routines are out of whack. Illness abound. You hear bad health news about a loved one. The list can go on and on.
I know sometimes it may seem like you are the only one going through it, but that is never the case. We ALL, and I mean WE ALL have rough patches in our lives and unfortunately, not to be debbie downer, but that is going to be a part of life for everyone.
There’s always more than ONE way to look at any situation. We truly believe your body hears everything your mind tells it. Say to yourself you are never going to make it through, your body hears that. Your posture changes. You’ll stop pushing hard. You give up on yourself before you truly give yourself a chance. Your own health, both mentally/physically will deteriorate.
We see this a lot this time of year, as winter continues to pound so many of us and illness truly is everywhere. So much can weigh on us, , that people can feel dumpy and frumpy and start letting their exercise routines slip.
And then rather than the outlook improving, things get worse. Because once your self care goes out the window, it all goes downhill even quicker.
Maintaining your self care and keeping it a non-negotiable – EVEN WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE FALLS APART – will be what keeps you moving forward.
Someday’s, that may mean just going through the motions to get yourself to SHOW up! You don’t have to be excited to log into every workout, or to lace up those shoes and get moving. But we are willing to bet, when you don’t feel like working out the most, is when you actually need it the most!
So give yourself the 5 minute rule. We have to do it ourselves sometime, even though we LOVE working out.
Tell yourself that you MUST start, that you need to show up, but if you aren’t feeling it after 5 minutes, you can stop. Pretty sure that 9.8 times out of 10, you will make it til the end of the workout, but you just have to get in there and START!
Your self care is what will give you the energy and confidence to know that there will be a next day you will make it to.
Your self care through exercise (with a focus on both yang and yin forms) will give you the inner and outer strength to meet challenges head on.
