Janelle resides in So Cal though her heart is in the mountains with love for the outdoors and all its amazing adventures. Janelle is an avid movement enthusiast dedicated to motivating and inspiring others to take care of their minds and bodies.
“I’ve been involved actively in team sports and group fitness my whole life. Growing up it was competitive softball/basketball where I truly learned the power of a team and community.
During college, fitness became more for leisure and staying physically fit. As I experienced more group communities of CrossFit, slow-pitch softball and spin classes, I found my inner motivation, accountability and connection that came from my experiences of community with others through movement.I work full time as a High School Counselor with a passion to speak life and hope into the hearts of students and empower pupils to find connection within a community. With the demands of my job, I found exercise as a healthy habit that relieves stress and leads to more advantageous lifestyle choices.
I believe with our one body given; every day we can move is a blessing.
I am excited to encourage individuals to build consistency in physical fitness and feel the ripple effect with their mental health.
When I am not teaching fitness or educating students you will find me with family and friends, in the open air, hiking, on vacation, cooking, or dancing away.

MARIA SOGARD
Maria is our resident New England Trainer and VFit's Director of Operations.
With a smile that will melt your heart, don't let it fool you. She'll challenge and motivate you to find the VERY best in yourself each and every class she delivers.
"Growing up in New England, I was very active in competitive sports from a young age.
In college, I began taking group fitness classes and enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, where my appreciation for group exercise began.
As an adult, I have pushed my physical limits with marathons, bikram yoga, Crossfit and enjoying the outdoors with hiking, snowboarding and sailing.
With two young children, it was difficult for me to find time to fit in my exercise and I was thrilled once I found the online training platform of VFit.
Being able to execute the full workout (commute included) in just 30 minutes was a total game changer.
In my classes, I am taking a little bit of everything from my experience in team sports, to the new moves and challenging routines I’m learning as a group fitness instructor.
I look forward to challenge my students to push themselves during their classes and take that drive with them through the rest of their day."
