EZEKIEL ALMOND BUTTER AND BERRY FRENCH TOAST

Sprouted, or "live-grain" bread is much less processed than commercial bread, is high in fiber and protein, and contains nutrients that “regular” bread lacks - making our version of French Toast a nutrient-packed alternative for Saturday morning breakfasts! This would also taste tremendous with a very good fermented sourdough bread as well.

Ingredients
  • 4 Slices ezekiel live grain bread or other sprouted bread
  • 2 Whole eggs
  • 2 Tbsp almond milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • natural nut butter optional, to taste
  • mixed berries optional, to taste
  • pure maple syrup optional, to taste

Instructions
  1. Warm a greased pan over medium heat. While the pan is heating up, crack eggs into a shallow dish, large enough to dip bread into. Add almond milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla and whisk well.
  2. Coat bread by dipping each side into egg mixture. Once coated, cook each slice until each side is golden in the heated pan. Should take about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Top toast with almond butter and berries, and a tablespoon or so of pure maple syrup, if desired.
