This one is for our kiddos, and if there is ever a time to empower them, this is it!

Join VFit trainer and mindfulness expert, Shari, for our second round of KIDS EMPOWERED, by VFit.

Kids Empowered, by VFit:

Twice Per Week From September 12 - September 30 (6 sessions total)
Time: Tuesday and Thursday at 4 pm PST.
** All classes will be recorded and emailed out to all families within 24 hours **
Cost: $49.00 for VFit Members, $85 for non-VFit members (minimum 10 kids, max 30)
This program is specifically for our younger VFitters aged 5-12.
Empowering literally means to give (someone) the authority or power to do something.
The act of empowering children is a process of guiding them to feel and believe that they are powerful now, as well as creating optimum conditions that mirror back to them these concepts.
In this VFit program your child will learn to empower themself. It will guide your child to develop the necessary skills to manage unfriendly peers, stressful situations, and gain confidence.
When kids are faced with “big emotions”, unfriendly classmates, social isolation, teasing, bullying, etc, it can result in loneliness, meltdowns, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, anxiety, and depression.
This program will teach your children to:
● Deal with unfriendly situations
● Set boundaries
● Manage frustrations & anxieties
● Prevent bullying
● Build self-esteem & confidence
● Manage big emotions
We will meet 6 times in the month of September. If you can’t make it to each live session, all sessions will be recorded and emailed to all participants within 24 hours of the meeting.
Each session will last approximately 30 minutes and include:
● Asana–a moving warm-up to gain body confidence
● Pranayama–breath work to teach control over the physical, mental, and emotional body
● Techniques and Strategies–to manage whatever life may send your way
● Mindfulness and Meditation–to help move from the sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system.
● Optional homework assignments to take the learning even deeper
Your child will also learn a basic understanding of how the 3 main parts of the brain are involved in mindfulness.

Day 2 Change Your Story–Be Where Your Feet Are
Day 3 Talking back to the “What Ifs”
Day 4 You Are Enough–Love Yourself
Day 5 Stay Calm In Tough Situations
Day 6 I have Superpower: Kindness, Compassion, Empathy

MINDFULNESS is the awareness of WHAT we are doing and WHY, without becoming overwhelmed or reactive.

It is a practice, which means sometimes you’ll get it right and other-times you won’t. The key is to continue coming back to it.

SHARI BELMAREZ

 “Yoga is a journey not a destination”

Shari Belmarez is a VFit Studio trainer and co-creator of the Mindful Moments Program.

Shari was a competitive gymnast in grade school and went on to become a competitive twirler in Middle and High School.  She attended The University of Texas in Austin, majoring in English and Kinesiology where she began teaching group fitness classes.  It wasn’t until several years later that the yoga bug bit, and Shari fell in love with the complexities of yoga and began practicing regularly.  In 2014, she decided to add yoga to her list of certifications and has been teaching and practicing ever since. She is a certified yoga therapist with over 1000 hours of credit, an E-RYT 200, and a certified educational provider (Y-CEP).

Shari enjoys practicing and teaching all styles of yoga and holds certifications in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Meditation, and Children’s yoga.

Shari’s mindfulness journey began authentically, as she herself, has suffered from anxiety and panic attacks from a very young age.  Yoga and daily meditation has been the lifesaver that medication could not provide. 

When she isn’t teaching or taking classes, Shari enjoys watching her daughters cheer both competitively and for LTHS and watching her son play football, basketball and baseball.  Along with her husband and 3 children, Shari enjoys travelling.
