VFit Studio's Enrichment Series:

Drawing for Fun with Tom Gately
Art is therapy and an amazing exercise for the brain. VFit Studio is proud to partner with Pixar(TM) animator Tom Gately and offer this monthly "live and virtual" enrichment class.
Born from the outbreak of COVID-19 and our desire at vFit to bring a positive light to homes, this special Drawing for Fun class quickly became a staple of households across the country.
Throughout "Shelter in Place," Tom volunteered his time 3 times a week, for over 6 weeks to host drawing classes from his home in Northern California. Tom quickly became an staple of comfort and stability to so many homes during our VFTISTRONG movement.
We are thrilled to be able to continue this special Drawing for Fun series of classes led by Tom Gately through the VFit Studio Enrichment Series.
Once a month, Tom will host a 45 minute Drawing for Fun class at 2PM PST, held online at the VFit Studio.
Drawing for Fun with Tom with will focus on basic cartoon principles. We will use simple shapes and easy techniques to draw your favorite Pixar(TM) and Disney(TM) characters.
It will be fun and lighthearted. In this time of uncertainty and transformation, what a gift this class will be to us all.
Rates for this class will be as follows:
//$5 per class for VFit Studio Members
//$10 per class for the public

This class is for EVERYONE. From 0 - 99! Trust us, everyone can learn to draw and have some fun while doing so.
Through our first month with Tom leading this special class, we saw families across the country all sit around the table and draw together.
Learn to let go, and let loose with your grip on your pencil, and let your cares slip away and fall into the land of some of your favorite childhood characters with this special class.
Testimonials from Tom's Drawing for Fun Students
For anyone who thought they couldn't draw, think again. Tom approaches teaching how to draw in a very different way, focusing on shapes instead of the overall image. He moves quickly, which shuts your critical left brain off and all of a sudden ... you've drawn a character from a beloved Disney or Pixar film. And you realize you CAN draw.

I have never been someone to draw, even as a child, but these 30 minute drawing classes have become a highlight during the week and I look forward to it!
It lets me completely disconnect from work or any stressors, and my only focus is to let that character come to life.
- Sina
Tom is a great drawer! He explains what he is drawing very clearly. He draws some of my favorite characters in my favorite movies. IT is cool to know someone who is currently working at Pixar. He draws characters very intuitively and makes them fun. It is also neat to hear his behind the scenes stories about the characters we are drawing!

Mr. Tom's drawing classes have been more therapeutic than I anticipated. He has an amazing way of leading young to old through drawing some of our most loved characters. It is fun, enjoyable, calming, and brings a smile to my face every time.
Tom has worked on some of your kids' (and OUR) favorite Disney and Pixar classics: Lion King, Pocohantas, Mulan, Fantasia 2000, Cars, Ratatouille, and More!
