Announcing VFit Studio 2021 “Mantra Of The Year”

Plank, star jump, mountain climb, we are finally back to the blogging board. We love, love, love to blog and share our messages of inspiration, motivation and action. It’s been a while since we’ve put finger to keyboard to write a blog, but this one is worth the wait!

A day nearly a year in the making …………We are here to release our 2021 mantra for the VFit Studio Team. And if you’re taking the time to read this, we consider you part of our team, near and far.

For the last 3 years we’ve chosen a studio wide annual mantra, that sets the intention for the team and bring us a common intent that we can all share.

2018: The Year of Today’s, Not Tomorrows

2019: Make Every Minute Matter

2020: Don’t Wish for It, Work For It

These above mantras came to us fairly quickly and we immediately put our stamp of approval, setting it in stone, aka – printing it on shirts, stickers calendars, swag galore.

But like most things 2020, coming up with what really felt RIGHT was a challenge. For weeks, the VFit trainer team circled through so many iterations and while many were really good, we just weren’t satisfied that we had found ‘the one.’

Thankfully that has changed, and we’re ready! The full trainer team stands behind this intention. We are so excited to share our 2021 Mantra of the Year, and more importantly the meaning behind these 3 simple, yet incredibly powerful words……………

SWEAT.SMILE.SHINE.

Yes, these are fun and powerful words on their own. But it’s the meaning behind each word that really made our arm hair stand up and where we know this IS THE ONE!

VFit Studio is SO much more than just an on-line workout platform. Being a VFitter truly becomes a way of life. And we say this not in a cult like way, but because the power we’ve seen this team have over each other throughout the years, especially throughout this last year.

We are a team. We cheer each other on. We pick each other up when someone falls down. We truly want the best for each other and to get the best from yourself, you need to be full of sweat, smiles and shine.

So onto what these 3 words mean to us and why we wish from the bottom of our hearts that when you hear us saying them in class, or you wear it on your swag, or read them – that you fill with a sense of pride you are deserving of.

SWEAT

It’s no secret that we love sweat at VFit. When we share our sweaty selfies, as vulnerable as that can be, we call them our badges of honor.

Why do we love sweat? Because you have to SHOW UP and WORK for it!

NO ONE else can put in the work for you to get the positive effects of a good workout. Every time you show up to a workout or a stretch sesh, you’re putting in a vote for the person you want to be.

You have discipline, self respect, tenacity, resilience, perseverance.

People who sweat consistently are people who are go-getters, high achievers – they stomp on excuses and instead seek opportunity.

Those are the people we love to be around at VFit and a top value system we hold.

If you’re not showing up consistently to take care of your mind and body through some form of fitness, community and sweat, you’ll never be living your best life. And life’s too short for that to be the case.

SMILE

It’s hard to say that word and not smile right?

On the tail of sweat, we love the word SMILE.

Sometimes you may need to fake a smile before it turns real, but a smile can change your mood and outlook on life, and that smile will change the energy with everyone you come across.

What better way to ensure yourself with smiles than a good workout with teammates?

“I really regret that workout” – said no one ever!

At VFit, it’s our mission that you leave class feeling better than when you logged in.

It is our mission that by showing up to your commitment and to fill up your tank, that you’ll leave that 15-30 minute experience a better version of yourself.

And with that better version of yourself, you’re then able to be the thermostat and set the mood, energy, and tone of the day ahead. That everyone in your family, community, and whomever you come across can sense some of your radiance and that smile becomes contagious.

Right now the world needs this more than ever!

VFitters smile A LOT! Not because life is so easy and we have no hardships or stress to overcome daily. We smile because we’re united in one very important core value: self care is not selfish, it is critical care.

No matter how hard life tries to knock us down or off course, 2020 being the ringer of all years, we keep getting back up – together.

When you log into a VFit class and know that others from across the country (even world), are doing the same no matter how “busy” they are, or how stressful life has been, it lights you up in such a special way. You can’t help but come out smiling and feeling better.

SHINE

There is only one you in this world and that is something you can’t take for granted. There are special things about YOU that no one out there has.

But to tap into that magic, you must be in tune with your own needs and limits. You must put your health as a non-negotiable priority that even when the going gets tough, you don’t back down.

The world needs us at our best right now. It needs each of us to continue to have hope, faith, and a sense of caring for one another.

We can’t be at our best if we aren’t taking care of our mind, body and spirit.

You plug your phone in when the battery gets lower, you fill your car when the gas tank dips, but are you filling your own bucket for health when you get depleted?

We chose this as our final word because we want each person we come across to dig deep and let your light shine!

When we allow our light to shine we can be of service to others, to this world, and that is the true purpose of life.

Here is to the closing of 2020 which is NOT a wasted year, and to the horizon of 2021 with all the opportunity that still lies ahead.

FRESH ALMOND MILK

Almond milk is a great non dairy alternative to cow milk. However a lot of store brands contain many fillers and added ingredients that are not necessary. This recipe is simple, easy and makes creamy and delicious almond milk. A nut bag is very helpful to get the most liquid from your mix, and can be purchased online for a few dollars. You can use the leftover pulp in smoothies, homemade granola bars, or baked goods.

CREAMY TOMATO SHRIMP OVER ZOODLES

This recipe was put together in Rachele's kitchen based off of a craving she was having for a creamy tomato dish. Feel free to get creative with this one, add in other fresh herbs or any protein of your choice. A great way to use some fresh tomatoes in the late summer.

CHILI ROASTED SALMON WITH CILANTRO CREAM

This is one of those dishes that tastes like it took hours to prepare, but was easily made in 30 minutes. We are sure once you try this dish, you will be making it all the time. Feel free to add any extra veggies on hand. Pairs well with cauli mash or over steamed greens.
